How to adjust a clock that is chiming the wrong number of hours

HOUR STRIKE ADJUSTMENT
If clock strikes the wrong hour, to adjust the hour strike, wait until the clock strikes the hour then move the short hand which is the hour hand to the number that the clock just struck. Next move the longer hand which is the minute hand counterclockwise to the correct time of day. From this point it will take the clock chimes about 1-½ hours to self-correct.
